Behind the Merch Table: Turning Your Art Into Products that Sell is a panel intended for professional creators looking to improve the business side of their art. Creating is not a monolithic experience, and there are many ways to merchandise your art, some more successful than others. Moderated by Jazzlyn Stone, Jiji Knight and Kerin Cunningham will share their experiences and lessons learned on creating pop ups, Kickstarting, distribution logistics, and being a one person customer service department, all while trying to maintain a work/life balance as a professional creator.

Grants are also particularly useful to people working outside mainstream comic styles, pushing the boundaries of the medium, and people from marginalized communities who may not fit within the existing publishing landscape. Explore grant-writing strategies and funding opportunities that help cartoonists get new projects done! Lorena Torres Loaize covers topics like preparing your publishing history, support materials, effective ways to describe your project and its importance, writing a compelling bio, as well as some great resources for grants and grant writing.
