Rachel Lindsay is a Burlington, Vermont-based cartoonist and author of RX: A Graphic Memoir (2018, Grand Central Publishing), about her experience working in psychopharmaceutical advertising as a bipolar person, and her subsequent involuntary hospitalization for mania, which has received acclaim from Kirkus Reviews, Publisher’s Weeklyand New York Magazine, among others.
A powerful new voice in the mental health realm of the Graphic Medicine community, Lindsay has spoken about her work at Columbia University, Mount Sinai Hospital, the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo, and the California Institute of Integral Studies, among other universities and mental health focused institutions.

Her weekly comic strip – Rachel Lives Here Now (2013-present) – appears in Vermont’s alternative newspaper Seven Days, and has gained wide acclaim for its humorous take on Vermont-centric themes. She also appears in Issue #4 of James Kochalka’s Superf*ckers Forever series, and was named a Cartoonist to Watch by the Comics Reporter in 2017.

Rachel attends TCAF in support of her recent graphic novel Release RX., a graphic memoir about “the treatment of mental illness, treating mental illness as a commodity, and the often unavoidable choice between sanity and happiness.” She is supported by publisher Hachete Book Group and Grand Central Publishing.
