Lorena Torres Loaiza

Creators

Lorena Torres Loaiza was born in Bogota, Colombia, and grew up in Canada. She works in comics, illustration, and fiction, often with a quirky visual style and some fantasy elements. She studied creative writing, and is currently working on a soft science fiction novel with the support of an Ontario Arts Council grant and a Toronto Arts Council grant.

She’s done short comics for the Toronto Comics Anthology, Wayward Sisters, and Hogtown Horror. This year, she’s contributing a short to the Doors comic anthology, with the Donut Collective, and unveiling two artsy zines: Maybefesto, about her strong (maybe?) love for doubt, and Isometric Mini Zine, with some very figurative thoughts on a bit of therapy she went on. She can be found at www.lorenatl.com, or on Instagram (@lszian).
