Carlisle Robinson is a Deaf Canadian and American comic creator and illustrator. They are passionate about educating the public with rarely told stories by the minority groups, especially deaf people. They went to Gallaudet University for undergrad. They graduated from The Center for Cartoon Studies in Spring 2015 with a Master of Fine Arts. They currently reside in Toronto with their cats.
They have created illustrations for the Disney – Hyperion books, The Nib, National Deaf Center’s Deafverse (first video game created by all-Deaf team for the Deaf people), Ontario Association of the Deaf, Boston University, George Brown College, Seven Days VT, and many more.
Carlisle was awarded a grant from Ontario Arts Council for Deaf and Disability Arts Projects. Their work were shown in Tangled Art + Disability gallery’s ‘Deaf, what?’ exhibition. They were also featured in Broken Pencil Magazine, The Daily Moth, and Convo’s Beyoutiful series.
