UPDATE, OCTOBER 22, 2019: Applications for TCAF 2020 are closed. We expect the application period for 2021 to being on August 1st, 2020. Please mark your calendars.
The Toronto Comic Arts Festival 2020 will take place on May 9th and 10th, 2020, with a day of Professional Development Programming on May 8th.
TCAF asks interested creators, self-publishers, and collectives who wish to exhibit and sell their work at the festival to fill out an application. Because we receive many more applications to participate in TCAF than we have space to accommodate, applications are judged by a team of TCAF staff for participation, and only about 1/3 of applicants are able to exhibit at the event. We also significantly privilege comics creators over illustrators/animators/fine artists/other creative persons.
In order to be as fair and accommodating as possible, we also ask creators to exhibit every other year. So, if you exhibited in 2019 it is highly unlikely that you will be given a space for 2020, without extenuating circumstances (i.e., a major new print release, a gallery show, etc.). Most publishers are exempted from this rule.
Table costs to exhibit range from $100-$225 + HST for a 3 foot space, to $200-$450 for a 6 foot space.
Applications for TCAF 2020 are due on Monday, October 14th, 2019. We have extended the application period! Applications are due on Monday, October 21st. Successful applicants will be contacted in December 2019 with confirmation.
The application period for TCAF 2020 is now closed.
We ask that all applicants read our Conduct & Harassment Policy before submitting: https://tinyurl.com/tcafchpolicy If your application is accepted, it is expected that you will abide by this policy.
A free Google Account is required to apply to TCAF 2020, but there is no submission fee or any other fees associated with applying.
