The Toronto Comic Arts Festival is pleased to announce another round of Featured Guests who will be joining us at TCAF 2017. Welcome Gabrielle Bell, David Collier, Dave Cooper, and Nate Powell!!!

Gabrielle Bell’s work has been selected for Best American Comics and the Yale Anthology of Graphic Fiction, and has been featured in McSweeney’s, the Believer, Bookforum, and Vice among numerous other publications. Bell’s previous graphic novel, The Voyeurs, was named one of the best books of the year by Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and the Atlantic. Gabrielle is returning to TCAF to support of Everything is Flammable with Uncivilized Books.

David Collier is the creator of Chimo and Collier’s Popular Press, as well as Colville Comics for the AGO. His work has been nominated for multiple Doug Wright Awards and a Hamilton Literary Award. He lives in Hamilton with his artist wife and son. David is attending TCAF 2017 in support of Morton: A Cross-Country Rail Journey from Conundrum Press.

Dave Cooper is an influential cartoonist, painter, and animator. His comics work includes Suckle, Crumple, and Weasel. Dave is also the creator of the cartoons Pig Goat Banana Cricket and The Bagel and Becky Show, which air on Nickelodeon and Teletoon, respectively. Dave is attending TCAF in advance of the anniversary edition of Ripple: A Predilection for Tina from Fantagraphics Books. There will also be a special screening and accompanying art show of his film, The Absence of Eddy Table.

Nate Powell is a New York Times best-selling graphic novelist. His work includes March, the graphic novel autobiography of Congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis; You Don’t Say, Any Empire, Swallow Me Whole, and The Silence Of Our Friends. He is the first and only cartoonist ever to win the National Book Award. Nate is attending TCAF 2017 in advance of Nate Powell’s OMNIBOX, a collection of his three solo works from TopShelf Productions.
